Hand Sanitiser Safety
Many companies have pivoted to manufacture or distribute hand sanitiser to help all Australians stay safe during COVID-19. With ingredients lists including ethanol, isopropanol, which are flammable liquids and hydrogen peroxide an oxidising agent that is corrosive to the skin and dangerous goods safety is mandatory during the manufacturing, storage and transport. More charges for alleged chemical stockpiles
New charges have been laid for the Campbellfield, VIC, stockpiles beyond the existing 35 charges already filed for the Badbury sites in Campbellfield and Craigieburn. The company, now in liquidation, faces the seven new offences under sections 31(1) and 45 of the ACT Read more here

NSW Chemical Accident: Company Director Fined $40,000
The director of cleaning chemicals manufacturer B&J Industries has been fined $40,000 after an employee was left permanently scarred from highly corrosive acid which splashed onto his skin.
Minister for Better Regulation Kevin Anderson said the accident was entirely avoidable if the employer had provided the personal protective equipment required by law. Read more here
