We are required to purchase a small amount of mercury (40ml) to fill a Fortin's Barometer for training purposes. We have an MSD sheet which is useful but does not go in to detail regarding quantities in regards to spills, only large or small spills. Nothing more prescriptive. We are purchasing a small spill kit through Store-Safe and would just like to know if it would suffice for this amount. Any other advice would be appreciated.

Perhaps I should have been clearer in my original query. The training is not in how to fill the barometer. The instrumentation training is around using a barometer. The type of barometer cannot be purchaed intact, but has to have the mercury sold separately and added by one trained individual. At no time would trainees or other staff members be exposed to the substance and is a one off situation as once filled they stay filled.
